From the mouth of a child!

I spent the day yesterday with my youngest daughter.  She is 5 years old and just a doll.  She is home because she missed the age cut off for school.  Which is fine with me it is 1 more year with my baby.  Anyway she has spent a lot of time with her Dad since I have been working more in the last year (I have many jobs).  So we were laughing and playing and I was tickling her and she gave me one of the best compliments ever.  She said "Mommy you are good at all of your jobs but you are the best at being my Mom so I think you should do this more!"  Of course my eyes welled up with tears and I said "Thank you!  Mommy sometimes forgets how much fun it is to be your Mom."

So hug & kiss & laugh with your kids as much as you can.  They and you need that and they do notice!

I hope that's the job that you are best at too......

  1. awww I'm crying. How suprised are you though really lol. You know me. I love this absolutely love it. I have heard very similar comments myself, recently my oldest Kayla who is 16 and so beautiful (inside and out) came in my room as I was watching t.v. She said mom I love when you and I watch t.v. togehter just us. (my other 2 were in bed) I said me too K. Then she took my hand and said you are a really good mom, i hope I will be just like you when I have kids. The tears came as I told her you will be an even better mom. She told me that is impossibe but I looked at her and said it's true you will learn from my mistakes and work through them while raising your own children. In all seriousness she said but mom I dont think you make any mistakes...I said I love you Kayla but I make mistakes we all do and one day you will realize that and when you do I hope you will still think I was the best mom. She said oh dont worry I know I will. Tears.... but after many nights of wondering if I made the right choices career wise I realized yep most definately being a mom was and is still my number one job.
